MY STORY

I swapped my running shoes for bare feet after injuring my knee running the New York City Marathon in 2011. After no signs of improvement from PT, I decided to start taking yoga classes (against my doctors recommendations). Finally, the strength and mobility began to return not only in and around my knee, but my entire body.
At the time, I was working for a large investment bank in New York City. In addition to helping me physically, yoga helped me manage my challenging work life by calming and relieving my stress. Because of this, I found myself increasingly drawn to my practice and became inspired to share this practice with others. I quit my corporate job and took a yoga teacher training. I haven't looked back since.
I have this insatiable love for learning and studying the human body (who knew), so I continue my education in yoga, anatomy and neuro-centric approaches to health and performance. I want to bring the best in research and science in the yoga and fitness industry to my family, friends and clients. My yoga and movement practice continues to evolve as I learn more.
Besides loving to run, I have been an athlete my whole life. And it all started at home. My parents owned a Tae Kwon Do School in Oak Park, IL so I grew up in Martial Arts receiving my first degree black belt when I was 12 years old. I played competitive softball since I was 8 years old and was a Division 1 athlete in college. I was always a fast runner, but it was in college where I began running indoor track and joined the swim team. Also, I was on the Select Co-ed Flag Football team that traveled and competed in Nationals. I even competed in a fitness competition at my college winning the title of 2001 Ms. SPC (Saint Peter's College) . This involved a 90 second dance routine! And I am not a trained dancer! I would love to see that VHS tape today.
I love moving my body. I love feeling strong and I love empowering others to build strong, resilient bodies to mitigate injuries and pain.
